JOB SUMMARY:
In collaboration with and under the direction of Vitalité Health Network's Regional Director of Addiction and Mental Health Services for Adults, the incumbent implements best practices related to addiction services (medical and addiction management – opioid agonist therapy, alcohol clinic, detoxification centres). He participates in developing and revising policies, procedures, protocols and any other regional documentation. He revises the department's clinical processes in collaboration with managers and clinical leads of internal and external addiction and mental health services and provides clinical expertise in managing complex cases, using an approach centred on clients, their recovery and harm reduction. He collaborates on opportunities for improvement for people with addiction-related disorders: examples - ICU (intensive care unit), ER, RHC (Restigouche Hospital Centre), psychiatry, justice systems, etc. He promotes and supports regionalization of services in Opioid Agonist Therapy Clinics and Alcohol Clinics, and all addiction-related services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Member in good standing of the Nurses Association of New Brunswick;
- Master's degree in Nursing;
- At least five years' clinical experience in the field of mental health or addiction services;
- Successful completion of nursing certification programs specific to unit within set time frames;
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- Clinical care skills;
- Skills related to the evolution of nursing practice;
- Evaluation and research skills;
- Leadership, sound clinical judgment, autonomy and good interpersonal skills;
- Commitment to ongoing nursing learning, training and professional development;
- Comprehensive understanding of mental health and addiction services;
- Ability to develop effective partenerships with the community and hospital network;
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently;
- Physical ability to perform assigned work;
- Good work history (performance and attendance);
- Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
- Adherence to the Network's confidentiality rules.
