JOB TYPE: Temporary full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: French essential and spoken English

JOB SUMMARY:

Audiologists provide quality audiology services to patients and those around them and carry out related administrative tasks. They screen, assess, identify and treat hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, tinnitus and other hearing impairments as well as balance disorders in people of all ages. They may be required to adjust hearing aids or other assistive devices depending on clients' hearing needs. In addition, they could perform cochlear or bone conduction implant candidacy assessments, provides post-implant follow-up or rehabilitation and case management, act as a patient advocate (with implant companies, NIHB or insurance compagnies), provide research or teaching and see to their professional development. They may be required to adjust hearing aids or other assistive devices depending on patients' hearing needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Audiology from a recognized university;
  • Registered and a member in good standing with the New Brunswick Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists;
  • Good judgement and organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network;
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in Audiology with experience in hearing aid fitting and verification;
  • Experience in understanding the needs of the deaf and hard hearing population;
  • Experience in the field of cochlear implants is considered an asset.
