We are currently hiring for a Compliance Inspector. This term opportunity, in the Regulatory Compliance Services Department, has full time hours and is for a period of approximately 2 years.
As a Compliance Inspector, you will:
- Perform compliance-related field analyses and sampling for:
- wastewater collection systems.
- treatment plant influent and effluent monitoring.
- water treatment and distribution systems.
- Supporting field investigations for infrastructure systems and source or receiving waters.
- Submit samples for lab analysis and evaluate results.
- Investigate water quality and quantity issues.
- Recommend methods and procedures for water sampling and testing.
Water refers to source water, wastewater, stormwater, surface or ground waters, discharges and receiving waters.
To do this job, you need to have:
- Grade 12. plus
- Two (2) year technical program in Environmental Sciences with specialization in water, wastewater and stormwater quality and quantity sampling and monitoring or Two (2) year post-secondary diploma in microbiology or chemistry.
- Three (3) years practical experience in water, wastewater and stormwater quality and quantity measurement, sampling, laboratory and field testing and analysis.
- Previous experience with similar duties and working environment.
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License.
This job is a unionized job under CUPE Local 1431.
