Overview
StFX is a top ranking Canadian university and we are seeking a Hotel Services Coordinator to be a part of the University Housing team. This position reports to the Manager, University Housing. This position may involve some evening hours and will regularly work weekends during the summer accommodations period.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervisor student staff on reservations front desk; Provide support, create work schedules and submit student hours to payroll. Assists with training new staff.
- Receives booking requests for accommodations, provides information, such as rates, conference and technical services including confirmation of reservations.
- Completes event billing post event (for master bills). Assists with daily cash ups.
- Provide guest services, onsite support for check ins and manages guest concerns.
- Provide support and assigns work tasks on weekends to housekeeping staff. Update room status.
- Assist with the set up and shut down of the summer accommodations program (inventory management, technology set up, etc)
Qualifications
- A minimum Diploma in Hospitality, Business or equivalent
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2 or more years experience in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
- Must have experience working and communicating with customers
- Strong work ethics and success at working in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task and follow-up with an eye for detail;
- MS office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience helpful;
- Experience working with a reservation booking system and in a university environment will be considered an asset.
