Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Coordinator works collaboratively within the Finance and Administration department to provide support to the day to day operations of the department. The position is responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Finance and Administration office
- Serve as the first point of contact for the finance area: respond to general inquiries and redirect questions as needed. Maintain current knowledge of the University Finance systems, policies and procedures. Liaise with departments and other stakeholders as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, as required.
- Maintain and update Colleague, EasyR, Self-Service Purchasing and Self-Service Budget user profiles; On-board new staff and train staff to use and troubleshoot the purchase order, budget and EasyR reporting systems.
- Maintain and update Visa program user data and prepare monthly visa reconciliation, as required. Train staff to use the Visa purchasing and reporting process.
- Perform related administrative duties such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems.
Prepare Finance and HR department purchase orders and cheque requisitions.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the office, providing accurate information when requested, and within established parameters.
Work closely with the Coordinator to the Vice-President (Academic and Research) and Dean's office, the President's Office.
Draft and prepare accurate correspondence and reports for the Chief Financial Officer.
A Degree or diploma in finance, business or administration is preferred plus 3 years related experience is required. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Considerable experience in data entry, general software programs, and general accounting is required. High level oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills are required. Capacity to work independently or in teams to meet demanding timeframes and expectations is required.
