As part of the Finance group, the Director of Finance in Operations provides financial and business management expertise in conjunction with leading the accounting, financial reporting and financial planning for the Operations Team (Generation, Transmission & Distribution and Enterprise Project Management).
This position is part of the Operation's senior management team and leads and coordinates all financial related deliverables for this group. They are the Finance lead that provides support to the Operations team in actuals, budgets and forecast for operating expenses (OM&A), capital expenditures, miscellaneous revenue and balance sheet accounts. This position supports the regulatory process for General Rate Applications and Transmission Revenue Requirement.
Key functions include:
• Responsible for the Operations budget and forecast processes and development of the annual budget, three-year budget and coordination and vetting of inputs into longer-term plans. Leads meetings as Chair for Transmission & Distribution and Generation Investment Review Committees- for capital spending and decommissioning. Ensures adherence to process and deliverables for business cases. Represents Operations at enterprise-wide capital portfolio discussions, prioritization and variance reporting.
• Oversees deliverables related to monthly actual results to support month-end close, quarter- end deliverables and year-end requirements. Ensures that variances are completed as required to support reviews at various levels on financial results compared to budget and/or forecast for OM&A/Capital/Miscellaneous Revenue.
• Regulatory Finance lead for Operations for Transmission Revenue Requirement Applications and General Rate Applications.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Bachelor's degree and CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant)
• Ten years' experience, post designation, in a financial services environment with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. Regulatory experience may be considered an asset.
• Five years of demonstrated leadership capabilities involving supervising teams or work groups, using information effectively, motivating employees, valuing individual contributions, and creating a sense of team.
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
