JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Manager of Psychiatry Services reports to the administration of Mental Health Services and the New Brunswick Francophone Medical Education Program. While respecting the Vitalité Health Network's continuous learning-based strategic planning, the N.B. Medical Education Program's strategic plan, and the strategic plan of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Université de Sherbrooke and the Vitalité Health Network, the incumbent is responsible for implementing and integrating clinical activities related to psychiatry services at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running of operations and manage human resources while optimizing the use of financial resources. The Program Manager of Psychiatry Services is responsible for the following programs: all clinical services associated with the francophone off-site psychiatry residency program in Moncton, ambulatory clinical services provided by the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC psychiatry team, integrated emergency crisis intervention services, and services associated with the geriatric psychiatry program.

The Program Manager of Psychiatry Services collaborates with the co-leadership team to identify challenges facing the sector. The successful candidate will support the co-leadership team in change management and must possess excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to resolve complex situations. Duties also include integrating services of the Learning Client Program (LCP) and the N.B. Medical Education Program, and ensuring collaboration between the clinical and academic entities involved.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to health administration or health and;
  • Member in good standing of a professional association;
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the health care field, including five recent years in management;
  • Minimum eight years' experience in mental health, psychiatry and/or addiction services;
  • Experience in a training or academic environment is considered an asset;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills;
  • Experience in change management in health care is considered an asset;
  • Experience in policy and procedure development and project management is considered an asset;
  • Very good understanding of the health care sector, its administration and its key partners;
  • Demonstrate skills in a management role including planning, management of human, material and financial resources, and overall coordination of activities;
  • Ensure the integration of services related to the Psychiatry Unit;
  • Strong leadership and ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams;
  • Ability to work in a team that practices co-management and co-leadership;
  • Strong listening and intervention skills, and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate;
  • Proven ability to function in a changing environment;
  • Ability to build solid alliances with various partners from all backgrounds;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • At home in a complex, rich, stimulating and changing environment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Outstanding communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
