Site Description:
York Regional Police Headquarters located in Auora, ON. This location includes the building, parking lot and structures and an adjacent 9.3 acre property.
Job Description:
The on-site high-profile security personnel will provide a variety of services, implementing the York Regional Police Headquarters security objectives according to policies and procedures which may include but are not limited to the following general tasks:
  • Protect the safety of persons and their belongings on Headquarters property
  • Prevent and minimize fire, theft, vandalism, criminal damage, and trespass on the property
  • Parking enforcement: including but not limited to the tagging/towing of unauthorized vehicles
  • Prohibit entry into secure areas of the York Regional Police Headquarters by anyone other than authorized persons
  • Complete interior and exterior patrol rounds
  • Monitor security consoles (access control, secure elevator, and CCTV video monitors)
  • Respond to alarms
  • Complete incident reports, logs, and daily operating reports
  • Issue and control access cards and keys to personnel, contractors, and visitors when required
  • Lock and unlock doors as scheduled or required
  • Report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions
  • Maintain a log of security incidents and report occurrences
  • Document, secure, and manage lost and found property and property safekeeping
  • Document all events in notebook or electronic incident report
  • Other duties as required / requested
Prerequisites:
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Must be able to complete a Background Check with York Regional Police
  • Previous experience in security, by-law, parking enforcement - considered an asset
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
