The Department of Social Development is seeking a dynamic and accomplished leader to join the Client Service Delivery Division as Assistant Deputy Minister.

Reporting to the Deputy Minister of Social Development, the Assistant Deputy Minister will be a key member of the Senior Executive Team. Through the leadership of the Client Service Delivery Division, the Assistant Deputy Minister will ensure strategic visioning, integrated planning, and horizontal and vertical collaboration aimed at improved service delivery to our clients throughout the province. The successful candidate will have a proven record of success as an inclusive and dynamic leader who has effectively established strategic goals, accomplished significant change, built strong, positive and collaborative working relationships with networks of contacts and partnerships with individuals at all levels as well as with organizations inside and outside of government, and used sound skills of negotiating and influence to achieve results.

Who are you?

  • You a strategic business leader with superior analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • You have considerable experience in a government or large corporate setting.
  • You have knowledge of New Brunswick's government decision-making and accountability processes, legislative processes as well as inner workings of Federal/provincial/territorial structures.
  • You can find innovative solutions to complex problems working in an effective collaborative environment.
  • Your educational background includes a master's degree with a minimum of 8 years' progressively responsible related experience OR a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years' progressively responsible related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You have written and spoken competence in English and French.
  • Experience in Operational Management is considered an asset.

Operational requirement: Occasional travel within and outside the province.
