Salary Range: $64,974 to $90,740 per annum
Reporting to the Manager, Budget and Reporting, the Lead, Budget Analyst coordinates and assists in the development, planning of budgets and the ongoing monitoring of financial results. The incumbent would be supporting budget analysts through complex costing models (i.e., Staffing Complement, Budget Data Model, Program cost per Student), escalating issue, process improvements, and mentoring others in budget-preparation, analysis and review.
In this role, you will:
- Provide feedback on employee development and performance management, aligned with College policies and values.
- Support the implementation of Budget & Reporting work plan objectives to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Identify and propose process improvements to enhance operational efficiency across the College.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to team members.
- Develop and produce detailed quarterly financial reports for Budget Managers, Audit Committee and Board for review.
- Prepare and enter journal entries as needed, ensuring accuracy.
- Assist in preparing reports for the Business Plan and Annual Report.
- Produce quarterly and year-end financial reports for GNB Department of Finance, including forecasts and variance analysis.
- Reconcile Fusion's General Ledger with NBCC's internal financial reporting system.
- Support year-end procedures, including checklist completion, GL account auditing, and auditor inquiries, while assisting in financial statement preparation.
- Monitoring journal entry corrections made by finance employees to ensure that they are posted in a timely manner.
- Analyze cost recovery reports for Professional & Part Time Learning and Apprenticeship.
- Analyze Ancillary gross margins and the inventory reconciliation.
- Assisting in producing Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Changes, Statement of Cash Flows and Lead Sheets.
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce (Accounting major) or related discipline.
- Must have a Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA).
- Preference may be given to candidates who have a minimum of five (5) years of related experience with a minimum of three (3) years being supervisory experience.
Technical:
- Demonstrated experience with client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership.
- Experience working in a post-secondary institution.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oracle Fusion experience would be considered an asset.
