Department of Computer Science
(Permanent Position)
DUTIES
The successful applicant will perform responsible and professional work in providing administrative direction to the department of computer science. Duties include advising the Department Head on a variety of management issues and recommending appropriate courses of action; coordinating and supervising administrative activities; preparing annual budget submissions; maintaining comprehensive records of financial activity for both operating and research funds; ensuring research funds are administered and reported appropriately; recommending administrative plans and procedures to contribute to the effective management of the Department; coordinating human resource and labour relations activities including recruitment, job evaluation, payroll, leave management, and collective agreement administration; developing, recommending, and implementing new systems, policies, and procedures; maintaining considerable contact with officials within the University regarding departmental administrative activities; supervising staff; performing a variety of administrative staff functions as required; developing the departmental budget for review by the Department Head; providing financial and administrative recommendations; preparing annual analytical, financial, and statistical reports; and performing other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in progressively responsible administrative positions; completion of an Undergraduate degree in business, public administration, organizational management, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. Knowledge of FAST, Banner, Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with University policies and procedures and research funding are considered assets.
SALARY $63,099 - $86,042 per annum (Management and Professional)
