Job Summary
In the interest of resident, staff, and property safety and well-being, the incumbent performs and supervises the functions which pertain to the Electrical aspects of building equipment and systems at all facilities of Eastern Rural Zone. Included is the skilled repairs and maintenance and preventative maintenance to all equipment and property as it relates to the operations and functioning of Electrical systems.
The Trades Worker II (Electrical) works with leads and management regarding completion of assigned tasks, scheduling of tasks, and provision of assistance in completing tasks and associated work orders/forms/records. With the assistance of management, determines and meets needs to ensure all aspects of electrical meet standards and ensure optimal functionality for all NL Health Services sites.
This position will require continual travel to all NLHS locations in the Rural Zone; overnight stays will be required.
Coordinates and communicates effectively with outside contractors in relation to various projects and keeps an accurate inventory of all electrical parts and supplies and orders/receives materials. Performs routine inspections on various electrical equipment/components of the facilities specifically surrounding Thermal Imaging and Arch Flash, electrical repairs to equipment within facilities, integration of fire alarms, repairs to resident wander protection systems, installation and repairs of video security systems, IS/Security radio systems and wireless panic system.
The Trades Worker II (Electrical) must use professional judgment of the trade when making decisions concerning their work area ensuring applicable codes and standards are observed and collaborate with other trades in execution of repairs and/or projects.
Make estimates of time, compile materials list and keeps records for task as well as read and interpret blueprints. Repair/maintain generators, transformers, high voltage equipment, upgrade and repair wiring and repair and preventative maintenance to switching in electrical rooms and other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications
Graduation from High School or equivalent.
Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Electrical Certificate.
A minimum of three years of experience as an electrician is required.
Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Satisfactory driver's license and drivers abstract will be required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
