The Role

Leads towards the overall success of product marketing for MD Financial Management in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of MD's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Acts as a key strategic partner providing recommendations and strategies to build brand equity and awareness for MD Financial Management, specifically through product marketing.
  • Responsible for developing thoughtful strategic plans to achieve priorities, obtain support from stakeholders, successfully execute, measure and report on success. This includes product launches, and growth areas.
  • Partners with key strategic channels throughout global wealth management to ensure coordination and successful execution of product marketing programs.
  • Maintain external vendor relationships as required (Fundata).
  • Keep product materials (brochures, websites, etc) current and up to date.
  • Support product and investment central communications internally for Advisors and externally for clients as required (ex Private Investment Council newsletter, quarterly asset allocation updates)
  • Drive a culture of innovation and efficiency; identifying opportunities to automate, improve or eliminate low-value initiatives and maximize ROI.
  • Conducts marketing activities in compliance with governing regulations (CIRO/IIROC/MFDA), internal policies, style guidelines, and procedures.

  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • A university or college degree, preferably in marketing, finance, or business administration and/or 5+ years of marketing experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Excellent communication skills combined with effective relationship-building abilities
  • Understands the investment industry and compliance regulations and requirements
  • Effectively works autonomously, independently and with a strong ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong project management skills with ability to take initiative to ensure successful outcomes
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence a variety of audiences to new points of view
  • Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment that can include varying skills/competencies. Strong team leadership required with effort paid to proper performance and talent development practices.
  • Strong conceptual abilities and excellent perseverance to solve problems and adapt solutions across a wide range of prospect and client segments
  • Strong writing skills, experience in developing product marketing materials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite
  • Industry-related designations/courses preferred:
    • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
    • Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH)
