The RSC Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the RSC operations and transportation, including people management and RSC activities. Actively contributes to a positive, productive and safe working environment.

Here's where you'll be focusing:

Key Business Functions, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

Financials
• Strong financial acumen working with the team(s) to deliver the operating and capital budget.

Performance
• Conduct performance reviews, coach, mentor, and utilize resources to elevate the teams' competencies and professional management skills
• Support succession planning by identifying high potential teammates and create development plans that align to individual and business needs.

Day to day
• Responsible for the oversight and handling of escalated customer service issues related to deliveries, product quality and safety concerns
• Monitor and report daily and periodic KPI's, adjust process or execution based on data analysis.
• Review and analyze reports detailing productivity, downtime, accidents, attendance and provide guidance on appropriate corrective action
• Drive innovation and change management with a focus on store execution, cost control and safety.
• Demonstrates outstanding leadership, with a clear vision, consistent sense of direction and serves as a role model to the team
• Prepare, conduct and participate in meetings and manage communication to appropriate parties
• Seek process improvements to eliminate waste and non-value added activities
• Lead and participate in creating a culture of engagement within the RSC
• Monitor and coach team to achieve established KPIs
• Measure and implement action plans to improve productivity, business results and employee engagement
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as per company requirements
• Ensure compliance with all Company food safety standards, guidelines and procedures
• Review labour requirements and forecasting based on volume and business needs
• Responsible to maintain collaborate relationships and liaise with other leadership, support departments, suppliers and stores

Law
• Adhere and ensure compliance with all laws and regulations including OHSA, Transportation, Human Rights, and Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)

Transport

• Oversee equipment maintenance within Provincial legislated requirements and ensure the safe operation of all Transport vehicles
• Work with Central Transportation to ensure all haul back opportunities are maximized and plans drivers/equipment accordingly
• Manage third party brokers and vendors to ensure company standard requirements and policies are adhered to
• Oversee cross-dock management
• Oversee final mile transport including corporate, franchise and wholesale

Preferred:
• Degree, diploma or certificate in business management or operations and a minimum of 7 years experience in a senior warehousing, transportation or logistics management position, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated successful experience leading and managing complex large scale supply chain operations

Working Conditions

• Office/RSC environment
• Physical work including frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
• Occasionally lift over 88 lbs
• Two person lift required for weights exceeding 50 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Multi-temperature environment (refrigerated warehouse)
• Alertness to other people and vehicles
• Various shifts including evenings and weekends
