About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatrician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental health. The physician will share the workload and on-call duties within the department. Pediatric services at our regional hospital include outpatient clinics, Emergency D epartment call coverage, inpatient coverage, routine neonatal care and attendance at difficult deliveries. We offer the opportunity for interdisciplinary clinics in the areas of development, behavior, obesity and chronic disease; opportunity to diversify based on physicians' interest . The position offers a vigorous and varied caseload, and the fulfillment of serving the needs of families in this rural part of the province. The applicant must be willing to work within a regional team with a focus on person-and-family-centered care. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Compensation & Incentives
Pediatrics compensation is competitive and varies based on the nature of your work and location. Your total renumeration is influenced by many things including whether you choose to work part-time vs. full-time, your experience and the community you practice in. Remuneration payment model is salaried.
Your experience is valued and recognized in Newfoundland and Labrador. We offer competitive incentives of
up to $275,000 CAD for Pediatricians that recognize your passion, dedication and all that you will bring to our communities. Many incentives are stackable. Qualifications
Eligible for registration and licensure as a Pediatrician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL).
Recent changes to registration and licensure have reduced barriers and allow doctors with comparable credentials to work in our province faster. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador regulates the practice of medicine in the public interest. Newfoundland and Labrador have been diligently working to reduce barriers and to allow doctors with comparable credentials to work in our province more quickly.
New approved licensure jurisdiction pathways for Specialists from Ireland, U.K., United States of America (USA), New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, as well as others approved by the CPSNL. Individuals must be trained and certified from these countries.
The successful candidate must also satisfy credentialing requirements of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services.
