We are currently seeking the services of a permanent, salaried General Surgeon at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony, NL.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador; the criteria for licensure are outlined on the CPSNL website (www.cpsnl.ca).
  • Applicants must satisfy credentialing requirements for Labrador-Grenfell Zone.
  • Earned Medical Degree.
  • Work experience is an asset.
  • A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
  • A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.

Duties: (Included but not limited to)

  • The physician will be responsible for performing and supervising surgical procedures
  • Provision of Inpatient and Outpatient care
  • Consultant with other physicians
  • This position may require travel to other LGH sites to support regional General Surgery services
  • Tele-health.
  • Coverage of on call commitments for General Surgery, including weekends and holidays.
  • The successful candidate will work as a part of a Team of physicians and nurses to provide the required services identified above.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Salary:

  • $263,672 - $285,596 (Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador)

Incentives:

*Physician Signing Bonus $150,000 with $25,000 top up

*Approved relocation expenses with a two year commitment to our Health Authority

Hours of Work:

  • 75 hours Bi-weekly; plus on call responsibilities.
