Carbonear General Hospital is situated in the town of Carbonear. Carbonear is a beautiful rural town about 100 kilometers outside of St. John's. There are many amenities in the area, such as hiking, a swimming pool, soccer pitch and biking/walking trails, restaurants, local theatre and shopping.

Job Summary
The Carbonear Internal Medicine department is comprised of a total of four full-time Internists. The general accountabilities of the position are to provide clinical services, treatments and therapies within the scope of the General Internist. This includes providing inpatient and office based general medicine consultation service, follow up visits, ongoing patient care and outpatient ambulatory services. Other services are available, including, Bronchoscopy, sleep studies, pulmonary function testing and stress testing depending on applicants' qualifications and clinical practice interests. Hospital inpatient services including intensive care and participation in the call schedule is required.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree

Remuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA) and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador ranging from (Step 1) $263,672 to (Step 3) $285,596.
Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience. Health and dental benefits are available in addition to vacation plus other various leaves including family and study leave in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement. Free hospital accommodations are available for the first 3 months of employment.
Relocation
NL Health Services is prepared to provide assistance to offset expenses related to relocation contingent on the execution of a return-in-service agreement. To be eligible for reimbursement, the incumbent must remain employed with NL Health Services for a period of 24 worked months. Relocation expenses will be approved in accordance with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Relocation Policy.
