Job Summary
Carbonear General Hospital's OBS/GYN department is comprised of a total of three full-time specialist who are accountable for the provision of comprehensive health care services to patients receiving care. The successful candidate will be expected to share 24 hour on call services.
The hospital has 70 acute care beds with a 6 bed ICU. Specialty services include; Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pediatrics, Family Medicine (Hospitalist) and 24-hour Emergency coverage. Further supportive services include, 24-hour diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, Chemotherapy, Pharmacy, Dialysis, ICU/Cardiac and Palliative Care. There are visiting services for ophthalmology and urology.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree

Remuneration
Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association (NLMA) and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador ranging from (Step 1) $263,672 to (Step 3) $285,596.
Starting salary will be based on years of clinical experience. Health and dental benefits are available in addition to vacation plus other various leaves including family and study leave in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement. Free hospital accommodations are available for the first 3 months of employment.
Relocation
NL Health Services is prepared to provide assistance to offset expenses related to relocation contingent on the execution of a return-in-service agreement. To be eligible for reimbursement, the incumbent must remain employed with NL Health Services for a period of 24 worked months. Relocation expenses will be approved in accordance with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Relocation Policy.
