Western Zone is seeking the services of two full-time Emergency Room Physicians for Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital (STRH), 142 Minnesota Dr, Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador. 36 hours a week at STRH is considered a full-time equivalent. The successful applicant will be expected to provide 12-hour rotational shifts.

Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital is a 44-bed acute care hospital offering 24-hour emergency room service and predominantly General Surgery lists, although surgical services are being expanded. Procedural Chronic Pain clinics are run weekly. The hospital is located approximately one hour's drive away from Corner Brook. Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a 217-bed regional referral center for Western Newfoundland and provides services to a population base of approximately 80,000 people.

We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Medical School and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Required: Medical Degree. Eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified and meet the credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Emergency Medicine. Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is desirable. CCFP-EM or CCFP certified with a minimum of 2 years Emergency Medicine experience considered an asset.

Remuneration: In accordance with Medical Care Plan (MCP) guidelines for Category A Emergency Departments. The current sessional, hourly rate is $232.07.

Come Home Incentive - $100,000 (if eligibility criteria are met)
Hot Spot Incentive - $100,000 for year 1 and renewable for same in year 2

Located in scenic Bay St. George, the Town of Stephenville has a population of 7,200 and is the service center for a catchment area of approximately 25,000.
