Job Summary
The Trades Worker II - Plumber ensures plumbing projects meet design and safety codes. In this position, the Trades Worker is responsible for overseeing and performing any medical gas pipping work including renovations, modifications and/or installing advanced systems; completing gas change outs; performing any quality audits; and ensuring inventory is maintained. These services will be required throughout all Eastern Rural Zone sites. The work also includes working with contractors, and assisting with the co-ordination of work of other trades workers, providing trade expertise and participating in the repair and maintenance of plumbing systems, ordering materials, fabricating and installing plumbing and heating systems, acquiring all parts and components for equipment, monitors contractor activities and coordinate shutdowns, liaising and communicating with contractors and performing other related duties as required.

Occasionally using fine finger or precision work and using hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness (pliers, screwdrivers, and electrical tools).
Job Qualifications
Graduation from High School and secondary education (Trades School or College) or equivalent.
Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Certificate in Plumbing is required. (Red Seal).
Minimum of five years of commercial plumbing experience is required.
Successful completion of a Medical Gas Piping Installer Certification from Canadian Standards
Association (CSA) or presently hold a valid Medical Gas License and has a minimum of three years field installation experience. Must be willing to register under the CSA Medical Gas Piping Install Certification Program.
Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to coordinate a range of related work or project activities.
Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills.
A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Driver's License and a satisfactory driver's abstract is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
