The Canada Games Centre (CGC) is a vibrant multi-sport community and recreation centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Position Summary


This position is responsible for maintaining strong stakeholder relations, as well as interacting with all Canada Games Centre departments to ensure communications collateral and other marketing reflect the brand accurately. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will perform a range of administrative, communications and marketing duties as part of the daily operations of the Marketing and Communications department.


Responsibilities


Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager in coordinating various integrated communication, marketing, and administrative activities.

Marketing & Communications


•Monitor brand and follow brand standards
•Coordinate and execute the production or implementation of marketing and communication materials including e-newsletters, posters, brochures, signage, advertising, program guides and annual report
•Write, maintain, and update website content on a regular basis
•Collaborate on creative strategy development for all marketing and communications platforms
•Work with designers, photographers and videographers for promotional assets
•Work closely with fitness departments to keep class and program schedules accurate in a timely manner
•Track statistical information and prepare performance analysis reports
•Manage and develop image and video libraries
•Write and distribute press releases and media kits
•Maintain communication with and marketing support for all departments
•Assist in the planning and execution of CGC events
•Assist in leadership, task assigning, and performance appraisal of Communications Assistant
•Manage relationships with partnerships, sponsorships and broadcast companies

Administrative


•Update weekly and quarterly fitness schedules (print and online)
•Track and coordinate membership asset requests
•Coordinate and monitor membership materials
Qualifications
•Minimum 3 - 5 years of related experience in marketing and communications
•Ability to meet tight deadlines and exceptionally organized with strong project management skills
•Strong understanding of marketing, communications, sponsorship, sales, advertising, and event management
•Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and communicate clearly, credibly, and effectively with various stakeholders
•Ability to multi-task, self-motivate, and be creative and member/customer focused
•Team player; energetic, innovative, and resourceful
•Passionate about sport, health, and wellness
•Experience executing integrated communications plans
•Must have experience with Microsoft Office. Proficiency in WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) considered an asset
•Understanding of web analytics and HTML considered an asset

Education


•Post-secondary degree or diploma; preferably in Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Business, or Commerce, or equivalent work experience
Working Conditions
•This is a full-time position (35+ hours per week) with flexible hours. Flexibility is needed to be on call when required from 5:30am-10:00pm, Monday through Sunday, to meet the needs of facility operations and demands
•Additionally fulfill Person on Duty (POD) shifts 2:30pm to 10:30pm on rotational evenings and weekends
•Exposure to loud noises and ability to concentrate in a busy environment

Compensation
•Salary will be based on a range from $42,840-$59,160 commensurate with education and level of experience. Hiring band is from $42,840-$50,500.
