Armco Capital Inc. (Armco) was founded in 1982 by members of the Armoyan family. Now, we are partnering with them in search of a Senior Accountant to join their team in Halifax.

As a member of Armco's financial team, you will possess a keen ability to focus on details and accuracy. People describe you as highly organized, able to prioritize and master the art of managing multiple tasks and requests with ease. You will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial analysis to ensure the organization has the best information to assist with strategical decision making. You will support the Controller by producing the month, quarter and years ends, mastering the financial reporting and general ledgers, and assisting with forecasting and budgeting activities. You feel successful when you are completing a task on time, efficiently and correctly. You are able to work well with your team, engage your internal clients and provide support in a positive and engaging manner. In short, you're good at what you do and a team member who people will want to work alongside.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining multiple general ledgers
  • Transaction review and coding
  • Compiling working papers for review
  • Financial statement preparation
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Project cost analysis as required
  • Interacting with auditors and preparation of year-end audit files
  • Assisting with special projects as required

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3-5 years' experience in financial reporting
  • Advanced computer skills (accounting software and MS Office)
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, multi-task, and deliver under tight deadlines
  • Flexibility to work on projects as a team member and also independently
  • High level of Integrity and professionalism.
  • Professional accounting designation or working towards completion, will be considered an asset
