JOB PURPOSE

The Patient Room Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic environment and promoting patient comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Must be physically able to work steadily at assigned tasks.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Patient Room Aide is responsible for:

• Cleaning patient rooms including dusting, washing furniture, cleaning bathroom fixtures, picking up garbage and making beds
• Ordering and replenishing basic supplies
• Cleaning and disinfecting designated areas including isolation areas
• Ordering, folding, and sorting linen
• Delivering and picking up food trays and nourishments
• Assisting patients as directed by nursing staff
• Transporting or escorting patients
