JOB PURPOSE
The Health Information Management Clerk 1 is responsible maintaining the filing system and providing filing and retrieval services
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduation plus an additional program/course(s) of up to six months OR five (5) years of recent experience (within the last 8 years) as a 1001, shall be considered as equivalent.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
Demonstrated proficiency verified by testing in:
- Data Entry 4000 KSPH
- Medical Terminology Spelling 75%
- Medical Terminology Vocabulary 75%
- Filing 50%
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Health Information Management Clerk 1 is responsible for:
- Sorting and filing documents
- Creating and maintaining charts
- Assembling charts according to a standardized order
- Filing, retrieving, tracking and transferring charts and files
- Reproduction of health records (scanning)
- Responding to requests for patient information
- Performing general office duties
