Department Overview:

The TD Securities Chief Data Office (TDS-CDO) aims to operate, organize, govern and monetize TDS data assets. This is achieved through four strategic pillars:

In doing so, the TDS-CDO enables the dealer with a focus on:

Role Details:

Reporting to Director & Senior Manager, Data Management in the Chief Data Office, the Manager Data Management will be responsible to support the implementation of data management and related data control execution activities for TD Securities.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Support the TDS-CDO in accordance with the Enterprise Data Policy, Standards, Process and Strategy

  • Provides expertise and executes on Data Management & Data Controls activities.

  • Be knowledgeable of data management practices and procedures within modern data platforms and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area.

  • Assist and help drive the automation of the Data management practices including metadata, data lineage, authoritative sources, data usage, data quality rules, etc.

  • Be knowledgeable and having working knowledge of data management tools in relation to metadata, lineage, data quality, etc. (e.g.: Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Unity Catalog, etc.)

  • Advises and consults with projects related to implementation of data management practices during system development (data impact analysis, quality controls, data lineage, etc.)

  • Knowledge of rules, regulations and requirements as related to the financial services industry with an emphasis in BCBS 239, GDPR, CCPA & other dealer focused banking regulations

  • Assist internal stakeholders and team members to monitor, measure, analyze, execute, track and report data quality issues

  • Support the development of presentations /communications and dissemination of information.

  • Coordinate relevant processes /meetings /events that impact the TDS-CDO's practices.

  • Understand department objectives and contribute by recommending appropriate action to management based on analysis and review of results within assigned scope

  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist

  • Acquire and apply expertise in the discipline, provide guidance, assistance and direction to others

  • Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines

  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.

Education/Accreditations:

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate

  • 7+ years relevant experience

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

  • Solid knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards &strategy

  • Solid knowledge of Capital Markets data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management

  • Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques

  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office, Sharepoint and ServiceNow

  • Good communicator with strong written and oral communication skills as well as experience presenting at the leadership level

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently

  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
