TDBG spends over $5bn each year with suppliers. The Strategic Sourcing Group's (SSG) role, in collaboration with our business partners, is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TDBG by leveraging this 3rd-party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost and mitigate supply-related risks.
Our role is global in scope, and we have just embarked on a journey within our department, and more broadly across the organization, to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management.
Our team comprises over 200 people who are in various TDBG locations across North America.
Job Description Summary
In this role you will interface with stakeholders across the organization, internal business partners, subject matter experts, other members of SSG and 3rd-parties to support the execution of the sourcing needs across the Bank.
The Procurement Analyst is a results-driven team player who will support various purchasing activities of the Bank. You will be a subject matter expertise on The Ariba platform, acting a key point of contact for all systems related inquires. The RFx and e-Auction functions will mainly support the Sourcing Manager by executing RFx (Request for Information, Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation) and e-Auction processes within TD's procurement tool. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and preferably experience with the Ariba tool.
Job Description/Accountabilities
CUSTOMER
Manage sourcing initiatives covering a range of complexity that support TD and business partner needs and objectives as well as help to mitigate risks to the organization.
Responsible for the management and support of all SSG purchasing tools and is a subject matter expert on PO's, e-Auctions and Contract Compliance within the Ariba tool.
Responsible for placing PO's, coordinating with vendors, and tracking PO progress and vendor invoicing.
Manage issues with RFxs, e-Auctions, Contract Compliance and POs in an efficient and timely manner. Ensure data accuracy within the tools and provide recommendations of ways to operate in more efficient and cost-effective manner.
Drive value through early engagement, commercial acumen, market knowledge and understanding of the Ariba tool.
Proactively engages with the Strategic Sourcing Functions and Purchasing Team to identify new opportunities to leverage purchasing tools and processes, and/or e-Auction related buying strategies.
Ensure effective delivery of Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) services to business partners.
May support the monthly reporting and tracking for departmental KPI's and Savings Targets
Ensure data accuracy within the tools and provide recommendations of ways to operate in more efficient and cost-effective manner.
Ability to analyze data and provide information to support Strategic Sourcing Group (SSG) buying/ sourcing decisions. Provide detailed analysis and reports on sourcing events to stakeholders.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including suppliers and internal teams and provide timely updates on the status of sourcing events and address any queries or concerns.
Maintain accurate records of all sourcing events and related documentation.
May assist in developing and updating sourcing templates, guides, and documentation.
Foster strong collaborative relationships with partners in SSG (TPRM, Category Leads, etc.), the business, and vendor management communities

Be knowledgeable of sourcing practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keep abreast of emerging trends for own functional area.

Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development / delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience.
Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist.
Acquire and apply sourcing expertise, provide guidance, assistance, and direction to others.
Identify, recommend, and effectively execute standard practices applicable to the discipline.
Adhere to internal policies/procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION
Post-Secondary Education and / or
1+ years of experience
Post-Secondary education/or equivalent experience
Experience in the following is considered an asset:
A Purchasing role or demonstrated experience of Strategic Sourcing practices.
Work experience on the Ariba tool
Experience with e-sourcing tools
Experience in building dashboards and reporting
Previous Buying or Purchasing experience.
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Demonstrated experience of Strategic Sourcing practices
Previous experience working in the procure to pay and source to contract process.
