The New Brunswick Community College (CCNB), CCNB - INNOV Network, is looking for a qualified and dynamic person to fill a position as researcher, Business Development Manager, Advanced Materials. CCNB-INNOV is the applied research centre of the CCNB, which stimulates innovation in the field of bioeconomy, advanced materials and advanced manufacturing through research activities, technical assistance, technology transfer and support for businesses and local authorities.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Under the responsibility of the Advanced Manufacturing Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for developing Innov's relationships and projects with the Industrial ecosystem of Innov in relation to advanced manufacturing and advanced materials, automation, robotization and composites. He maintains close relations with the leaders and managers of research and development companies in these sectors, knows their issues and presents them the services of Innov meeting their needs. It also contributes to the development of Innov's strategies and structuring projects for relevant interventions in these niches and will support the organization's various business development initiatives. Tasks will range from preparing submissions to responding to incoming requests from prospective clients through prospecting efforts and participating in structuring initiatives of Innov.
The main tasks will include:
- Develop and maintain Innov's relationship with the Industrial ecosystem in relation to advanced manufacturing and advanced materials, including automation, robotization and composites.
- Monitor industry needs on the subject and federal and provincial government policies on these issues, and produce summaries for Innov researchers and manage
- Meet companies in these sectors, know and understand their issues and projects and identify with them and with Innov researchers how Innov can help them.
- Draft and produce various documents for the division related to industrial and the community needs.
- Coordinate with project managers in the drafting of service offers and summaries of the scope of work with identified projects.
- Coordinate grant applications for the projects identified and follow up with certain donors in connection with these projects.
- Contribute to draft grant applications for the projects identified and follow up with certain donors in connection with these projects.
- Perform tasks related to business development efforts and project delivery (meeting planning, document preparation, data analysis and updating virtual workspaces, layout, etc.).
- Ensure proper tracking of business opportunities and extract performance indicators from them
- Ensure communication and information transfer with researchers and other Innov departments.
- Provide support for and update the client database.
- Update various documents such as templates, biographies, project portfolios etc.
- Contribute to the scientific popularization of Innov's activities in these niches and to the production of marketing communication tools.
- Provide clerical support to the Business Development Manager, the Bathurst and Caraquet Site Manager and the Innov Branch.
- Any other related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS: The person must have at least a master's degree in advanced materials and have 5 years of professional experience with ideally a mix between the private sector and research and development in the field of advanced materials research. Experience in sales, customer relations, marketing or business development is an asset.

Ability to translate a more scientific language into business language and vice versa. Ability to perceive and create business opportunities and generate projects. Experience in sales or business development. Understand the issues of economic development and innovation. Results-oriented. Excellent ability to manage multiple projects/opportunities simultaneously and prioritize tasks and files.
Knowledge of automation, robotics, information technology and/or composites would be considered an asset. Good writing skills, experience in writing grant applications and knowledge of available government programs. Knowledge of the territory and network established in NB businesses in these niches.
Have a valid driver's licence and motor vehicle, as business travel will be required. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required. Good attendance and performance record.

Status Full-time term position, starting as soon as possible and ending on March 31, 2027, with possibility of renewal
Salary: Salary Range 08 - Management and Non-Unionized Staff (from 108 030 $ to 121 680 $ annually, depending on experience)
