Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
(1 Year Contractual Position)
DUTIES
The successful applicant will perform research support work requiring initiative and judgement within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Duties include coordinating the day-to-day financial operations for researchers, including preparing and verifying all human resources, purchasing, and travel-related documentation and ensuring that documents are in accordance with established policies and procedures; assisting in workshop logistics; verifying expenditures on monthly statements of accounts and following up on discrepancies; maintaining comprehensive records of finances and accounts and providing monthly updates; providing policy and procedural advice and assisting with budget preparation; liaising with other administrative offices throughout the university community; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience (3-5 years) in an administrative staff capacity; completion of most university coursework towards an undergraduate degree in business administrative or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training is required. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge in budget preparation, purchasing, and accounting procedures; proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Outlook, and Access); strong analytical and communication skills; and the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and administrative personnel. Knowledge of Banner Finance, Student Banner, Microsoft Excel, as well as university policies and procedures, would be considered assets.
SALARY $59,901 - $70,273 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
