Power Systems Operator Apprentice
Competition: NLH-NR-24-073
Status: Term
Location: Muskrat Falls

This two-year apprenticeship program will prepare you for Journeyperson Certification as a Power Systems Operator (PSO). Upon completion, you will be qualified as a Hydro Plant Operator. As a Power Systems Operator Apprentice, we will prepare you to operate our Hydro Generating Plant in Muskrat Falls.

Requirements:
You have graduated high school and have successfully completed a three-year electrical or electronics technology program from a recognized post-secondary institute or you have a journeyperson certificate as an industrial or construction electrician. This will prepare you to obtain your journeyperson (provincial) as a Power Systems Operator. Other combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

You have thorough knowledge of all regulations and safety rules and possess and maintain an appropriate valid driver's license. You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program. You will also be responsible for performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

You are responsive to feedback, welcome diversity and enjoy working with a dynamic team. Additionally, you are able to effectively communicate and work in a dynamic environment.

  • A copy of your Interprovincial Journeyperson certificate, if applicable.
