Hours: Rotating 2 week night schedule - 1800-0600hrs
Week #1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday
Week #2 - Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Pay Rate: $18.75
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement - calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

The day-to-day work activities of a Security Guard working at IGPC include, but are not limited, the following duties:
  • Control entry and access to the plant and maintain accurate logs of those entering and leaving the plant
  • Weigh Scale Operation
  • Shipping/Receiving duties of inbound/outbound deliveries
  • Report safety non-compliances and all incidents to specified IGPC representative
  • Aid in incident mitigation and investigations when required
  • Aid in emergency responses and first aid measures when required
  • Aid in IGPC Health and Safety programs/procedures when required
  • Maintain a helpful and professional affiliation with IGPC employees, carriers, contractors, and visitors

Prevent, help manage, observe, detect, report:
  • Thefts, break-ins, vandalism
  • Accidents, fire, leaks
  • Articles of value found
  • Damage found to building
  • Hazardous conditions
  • Unauthorized parking on site
  • Any other circumstances and conditions not in line with good security practices
  • Follow additional practices as set out by IGPC when necessary

The applicant must possess the following:
  • Be courteous and cooperative with a high quality of customer service
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
  • Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
  • Write clear, concise and legible reports

Preferred skills/qualifications:
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard license (required)
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certificate
  • Experience in a Truck Gate/Warehouse environment
  • Physically capable of cutting truck bolt seals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (required)
  • Adaptable to In-house Software
