As part of the Alkaline Aggregate Reaction (AAR) Project team, the AAR Team Lead is responsible for leading the AAR team within Hydro Technical Services (HTS) by determining and prioritizing the engineering deliverables to support the Hydro region and Mactaquac Life Achievement Project (MLAP) schedules.
Key functions include:
· Interface between Hydro Technical Services and the Mactaquac Life Achievement Project team.
· Prioritize AAR-related work at Mactaquac and assign staff accordingly to ensure the engineering deliverables achieve the quality and schedule (i.e. running work, outage, & MLAP) required, including setting expectations and monitoring employee's performance.
· Maintain and develop project reports including budgeting, forecasting, Investment Rational Document (IRD) development, scheduling for AAR-related work, including both OM&A and Capital projects.
Our ideal teammate will have:
One of the following:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
• Civil Engineering Technology Diploma
• Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma
In addition to:
• Eight years of experience in an industrial and/or construction setting, involving the management of small to medium size projects, with a focus on civil/structural
• Five years of experience in managing engineering projects, with both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience leading or in direct supervision of an engineering and/or construction team
• Strong working knowledge in project reporting and controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and project management methods and tools
• Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate thoughts/messages and prepare technical documents
Those with a diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technology would require:
• Ten years of experience in an industrial and/or construction setting, involving the management of small to medium size projects, with a focus on civil/structural
• Five years of experience in managing engineering projects, with both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience leading or in direct supervision of an engineering and/or construction team
• Strong working knowledge in project reporting and controls, including budgeting, forecasting, and project management methods and tools
• Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate thoughts/messages and prepare technical documents
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
