The Energy Efficiency Services team delivers energy efficiency programs, incentives, and advice to the residential, commercial, and industrial markets. As part of this team, the Technical Energy Advisor supports energy efficiency programs in the industrial market and is accountable for reviewing and verifying applications prior to payment. The incumbent plays a critical role in developing relationships with external stakeholders who can help promote the program.
Key functions:
- Technical review and verification of industrial applications which includes analyzing energy models, statements of work, feasibility studies and requests for payments, in addition to recording results in associated program databases.
- Customer engagement and account management as it relates to the industrial programs. This involves working with business accounts, both new and existing, guiding them through the programs to help them identify energy efficiency opportunities.
- Energy Management capacity building and engagement, both in NB Power and with its customers. This involves preparing and delivering industrial sector presentations for stakeholder groups and identified target markets with a focus on corporate level audiences.
Our ideal teammate will have:
- Bachelor's degree or two-year technical diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial).
- Three years of experience in the following or a combination of the following (Candidates with a two-year technical diploma will require an additional two years of related work experience):
o Energy auditing - conducting or overseeing commercial or industrial energy audits, including baselines, energy balances and itemizing, and modelling energy efficiency upgrades.
o Energy management - developing energy management plans for customers and overseeing the successful implementation of programs and services.
o Mechanical or electrical design - including commercial or industrial systems with a focus on optimizing energy efficiency.
Along with:
Experience in at least one or a combination of the following:
o Implementing and working with formal management systems.
o Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to effectively respond to customer inquiries.
Preference will be given to those with working knowledge, accreditation, or program affiliation with one or more of the following:
o Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
o Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP)
o International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP)
o Superior Energy Performance (SEP)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Written and spoken competence in both English and French
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Operational experience in the industrial or manufacturing sector would be considered an asset.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
