On behalf of Virtual Marine, Jump Recruitment seeks an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee operations and support the company's growth initiatives. Virtual Marine, based in St. John's, NL, is a leader in maritime safety simulation, creating advanced training tools that empower small craft operators to train safely and realistically.

As COO, you will collaborate closely with the CEO to drive operational excellence, support scalability, and optimize Virtual Marine's unique training solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead in a mission-driven, tech-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute operational strategies aligned with company vision, ensuring smooth scaling and growth.
  • Build efficient cross-departmental processes, focusing on collaboration with product development, engineering, and customer support teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize performance and meet company goals.
  • Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead crisis management and navigate the organization through industry changes.
  • Inspire high-performing teams, championing an inclusive culture.

About You

Experience:

  • 10+ years in operations leadership, ideally within technical or simulation sectors;
  • Proven experience in scaling companies and managing company growth.
  • Managing company growth.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (MBA or other advanced degree preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong data-driven decision-making.
  • Project management, and change management capabilities.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma is beneficial.

Leadership:

  • A collaborative leader skilled at cross-functional management and adaptable to evolving challenges.
