Job Summary
The Site Clinical Manager is accountable for the overall direction and coordination of clinical and human resource activities within Eastern Health's facilities in Clarenville, Bonavista, Burin, Grand Bank and St. Lawrence during evenings, statutory holidays, and weekends. The Manager will participate two days in a two-week cycle in special initiatives with the management team. The incumbent will manage patient flow, monitor appropriateness of admission and patient/resident placement, and coordinate human resource activities to ensure the appropriate resources are available to meet patient/resident care requirements. The incumbent may also be responsible for the coordination of volunteer resources within facilities.

Job Qualifications

Education
A Baccalaureate Degree in a health-related field is required.
Master's degree in the applicable area is an asset.

Experience
A minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience including experience in acute care clinical setting, supplemented by supervisory experience is required.
Experience with coordinating volunteer services would be considered an asset.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Knowledge of quality improvement principles, human resource management, utilization management principles and discharge planning are essential, as well as the ability to determine the clinical needs of patients.
Demonstrated strong decision-making abilities and communication skills and have the ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external partners.
Possess excellent interpersonal, decision-making, problem solving and organizational skills and be effective working in an independent manner.

Other
Current registration with a professional association is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
Travel throughout the area is required.
