In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 :Senior Transportation and Friendly Calls Program Operations

  • Implements and maintains transportation services procedures, standards, and driver requirements
  • Manage daily communication with program partners internal and external.
  • Assesses the eligibility of transportation clients by evaluating their needs based on requests to determine the required vehicle, referring clients to other health or social services when appropriate, maintaining confidential client files, and reviewing clients' subsidy applications.
  • Coordinates transportation requests by recording client ride requests, developing routes, scheduling drivers, and confirming details or changes with drivers and clients.
  • Assesses eligibility of friendly visiting clients by evaluating needs, making referrals to health or social services as appropriate, and maintaining confidential client files.
  • Coordinates friendly visiting requests by recording client preferences, conducting home safety visits, scheduling volunteers, and confirming details or changes with volunteers and clients.
  • Produce statistical reports and other correspondence as required by various funders and provides to Senior Manager(s).
  • Reconcile monthly transactions between RC and Agencies, processing payments if necessary. Supporting the overdue accounts maintenance and reconciliation

Responsibility 2 : Community Collaboration

  • Develops and maintains a positive relationship with related organizations and community partners/stakeholders.
  • Plays an active role in researching, identifying, developing and implementing new or re-aligned services/initiatives.
  • Liaises with community to determine vulnerability and gaps in services.
  • Assists with program development to meet service gaps.

Responsibility 3: Management and Protection of Assets

  • Provides on-site support to management of physical assets (premises, vehicles, security).
  • Provides on-site management support of financial assets and activities (petty cash, cash receipting).
  • Assists with preparing and monitoring program specific budgets, completes program statistical reports, assists with grant submissions, fee-for-service initiatives, and assists with preparing progress reports.
  • Assists with review and analysis of budget variances.
  • Collects and records program statistics.
  • Assists with the preparation of various progress and evaluative reports.

What we are looking for :

  • One to three year's community college diploma preferably within the Gerontology or Social Services field.
  • Two to five years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good communication/presentation skills, leadership abilities, and experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to travel throughout the District of Cochrane and must have own reliable transportation.
  • Sound knowledge of various computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with CIMS, RAI CHA assessments or other data management software is an asset.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to understand detailed information.
  • Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and travel is required.
