(Part-time Contractual Position to February 28, 2026)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Editors-in-chief, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day functions of the editorial process. Duties include managing the journal's online Open Journal System (OJS); corresponding with (potential) contributors, peer reviewers, guest editors, and Memorial library staff as needed; undertaking copy-editing and preparing articles for production/publication using Word templates, pdf tools, and the OJS; suggesting, developing, and implementing practices consistent with academic journal standards; developing innovative plans to increase the impact and visibility of the journal; promoting and performing outreach to increase impact of the journal; managing and maintaining records/statistics of the journal; organizing webinar launches and orientations for potential authors/contributors (special focus on junior scholars, students, and practitioners); providing support to the editors-in-chief for grant applications for the journal; attending virtual monthly editorial team meetings and the journal's Advisory Board meetings as needed; liaising with EBSCO, Erudit, and other related publishing services as needed; and performing other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (minimum 2 years) with editing, copy editing, peer-review processes, publishing, and especially academic publishing is necessary; completion of an Undergraduate degree is required; education/certification in publishing considered an asset; or any equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered. The successful candidate will have advanced organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks/manage deadlines; strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work independently to complete assigned/agreed upon activities; and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment. Experience with promotion and outreach; Experience with Open Journal Systems and/or content management systems; and demonstrated knowledge/experience consistent with the journal's scope and focus will be considered an asset.

SALARY $56,212 - 65,983 per annum (Non-Bargaining)
