The salary scale for Professional Support 3 is based on steps that range from $68,917.73 - $91,624.25. New Professional Support may receive up to a maximum of seven steps for relevant occupational experience which is $80,254.49 annually.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Student Services and housed at the Burridge Campus in Yarmouth, NS, you will be responsible for the management of Burridge Campus, Shelburne Campus, and Digby Learning Centre student records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, as well as timely and appropriate distribution of student information. You will collaborate with the Manager of Student Services and Student Services team members, Academic Chairs and faculty, College Registrar's Office, and the Campus Principal on enrolment management issues and provide insight and analysis into enrolment trends. You will support students' registrarial needs in person, by phone or Microsoft Teams, and upon written request. There may be occasional travel to the Shelburne Campus and Digby Learning Centre.

Specific duties and accountabilities will include:

  • Apply expert records management processes in the maintenance of student records.
  • Advise students on processes and academic policies related to student registration and academic records.
  • Maintain timelines, accuracy and confidentiality of student records.
  • Maintain consistency in recordkeeping in accordance with college policies and procedures.
  • As a PeopleSoft Power User, regularly review transcripts, enrolments, as well as any campus data entry that impacts enrolment.
  • Prepare written and electronic communications to staff and students regarding a variety of college policies and procedures.
  • Innovate business processes for continuous improvement for the student experience.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is an undergraduate degree. A degree focused in Education, Adult Education, or Business Administration would be considered an asset.

  • You have a minimum of three years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience. Your occupational experience focuses on data, records management and relationship building within an educational/academic environment with an emphasis on excellent customer service.

  • You possess strong technological skills and high computer competency, demonstrated through the use of databases, enterprise systems, etc. You are familiar with and excel at using computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, digital tools, etc.

  • Occupational experience that includes the ability to manage high volumes of work with precise accuracy is considered an asset.

  • You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology to create an exceptional student experience

  • You have experience supporting/providing service to students or prospective students.

  • You have the ability to explain detailed policy, procedures and processes to colleagues and students.

Work With Us

As a condition of employment, Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete a part-time adult education program delivered by NSCC. This adult education program is a significant investment on the part of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete the program within their probationary period. Term full-time Professional Support employees whose term appointment is twelve or more months are also required to participate in this program.
