Salary range: $66,466.48 to $80,935.71 annually

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Innovation - Technology Training and Staff Development, your responsibilities will include:

  • Technology Integration: Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to integrate technology tools and platforms into teaching and learning processes.
  • System Evaluation: Assessing existing educational technologies, software, and systems to ensure they meet the institution's needs and goals.
  • Training and Support: Providing training sessions and support to users (such as faculty, staff, and students) on using educational software, learning management systems, and other technology tools.
  • Data Analysis: Analysing data related to technology usage, student engagement, and learning outcomes to inform decision-making and improve educational experiences.
  • Research and Innovation: Staying informed about emerging educational technologies, trends, and best practices. Exploring innovative solutions to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Leading and coordinating projects and initiatives.
Qualifications

Qualifications and Occupational Experience:

  • The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma in Information Technology or a related field.

  • You have a minimum of 3 years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in IT and AV technologies typically used in a modern educational classroom setting.

  • Ability to facilitate and lead small groups in task work and requirements-gathering workshops.

  • Sound working knowledge of classroom technologies would be considered an asset.

  • You have an understanding of the functional components that are required to deliver an educational experience.

  • Ability to acquire business knowledge and specific product skills rapidly, if they don't already exist, through self-directed and individual learning.

  • Occupational experience that includes Learning Management Systems would be considered an asset.

  • You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite including MS Teams, e-mail, Zoom, etc.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders such as instructional designers, faculty, managers, technical team members, and vendors.

  • You understand database theory and concepts.

  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • You are known for your superior customer service skills and can create a relationship of trust beyond the immediate interaction and can work with clients, vendors, and technical team members on resolving and negotiating system issues.

  • Sound ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • You are a resourceful self-starter, that takes the initiative to address challenges.

  • Your superb team working skills enable you to contribute positively to a team environment

  • You have specific technical occupational knowledge and skill in IT/AV Classroom technologies (e.g. projectors, displays, voice amplification, media controls, etc.).

  • You possess excellent coordination skills.

  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence.

  • You are dedicated to life-long learning.

  • You show a strong commitment to community involvement.
