At Sobeys, our corporate roles follow a hybrid model with an expectation to work in one of our offices a minimum of three (3) days per week.
Here's where you'll be focusing:
As a Merchandising Coordinator, Co-op Student, you will experience the diverse aspects of a Category or National Sourcing roles. You will work both independently and, in a team, to help build, create, and support promotions for our banners. You will work closely with the category management or national sourcing and supplier engagement teams to ensure our financial metrics are being met. There will be opportunities to be exposed to how category plans are built and gain a true understanding of the stem to stern process. You will ensure data is clean and that information is correctly updated in the system. You will also work with our operations team to varying degrees.
We are seeking students that meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Marketing, or another relevant program
- Self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently, as well as a member of the team
- Efficiently able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Bilingual in English and French is required as the candidate will be expected to work with peers in other provinces in the development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, as well as provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada.
