As the Manager, Investment Portfolio Management, you will contribute to the overall success of the Retail Deposits portfolio in Canada, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. You will also be responsible for monitoring and analyzing market and business data to support business decisions, and identify trends in liquidity management and client behaviors, with the goal of identifying deposit growth opportunities for the Bank.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Provide actionable insights for portfolio volume/margin management and business casing of new initiatives using a quantitative and data-driven approach

  • Monitor, assess and evaluate portfolio trends and provide ongoing timely insights on developing portfolio trends and KPIs which are important for Retail Savings to achieve its annual growth targets

  • Manage or support strategic projects or ad-hoc assignments for Retail Deposits & Investments in partnership with business line, finance, analytics, retail channel and external partners

  • Manage portfolio performance routine including weekly/ monthly results, monthly forecasting, annual planning in collaboration with Product and Finance for Retail Savings portfolio

  • In partnership with Product, manage the rate pass-through strategy with changes in Bank of Canada rate

  • Monitor competitor offers and ensure strategic positioning of Retail Savings and across Retail Deposits

  • Contribute to business management decisions by developing timely and actionable analysis of financial and non-financial results and trends

  • Provide the post-implementation analysis and tracking of key initiatives, monitoring the results to measure success against projects KPIs

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in commerce/business, economics, finance or analytics

  • Previous experience working in the Financial Services industry and a good understanding of the retail deposits and investments market, products, services, and processes

  • Strong analytical and communication skills to effectively partner with internal teams

  • Advanced skills using Excel; experience using VBA is an asset

  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint

  • Experience using data visualization tools is an asset; Power BI preferred

  • Experience using Python for data processing and forecasting models is considered an asset

  • Solid project management skills to prioritize, manage, and implement competing initiatives

  • Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Experience in product P&L management, Finance and/or Business Analytics considered an asset
