In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 : Development of Design Communications

  • Develop consistent brand and user experiences for donor audiences and design communication pieces that facilitate brand and design best practices.
  • Lead on design and art direction of marketing materials and campaigns, including, but not limited to: infographics, social posts, emails, landing pages, microsites, print ads, reports, pitches, proposals and presentations for high profile donors and organizational leadership.
  • Lead design contributor for Philanthropy design systems - guides and standards, graphic elements, graphic libraries - for user interface (UI), branding, client and medias.
  • Execute designs from concept to production and ensure design adheres to brand standards and consistent design between associated products.
  • Develop and maintain visual identity of templated assets for various donor audiences.

Responsibility 2 : Building Effective and Efficient Creative Processes

  • Is a key contributor to design development, strategy, and planning.
  • Research and analyze current brand and design components, guides, and processes and gaps to identify needs.
  • Provide recommendations for design system elements, standards, processes and structure based on department needs and best practices.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Ops team, advise on planning and scheduling of creative projects.

Responsibility 3 :Develop and Implement Design Training

  • Lead subject matter expert in design templates and applications.
  • Develop and provide training and resources for team members and clients.
  • Keep abreast of emerging design trends and updates in design applications and provide updates to the team.
  • Research and recommend new applications when required.

What we are looking for :

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in advertising or design plus a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experienced in the design nuances for a myriad of digital sub-channels including emails, landing pages, microsites.
  • Strong visual storytelling aptitude with ability to turn data and content into interesting designed assets and show how designed assets can tell convincing stories.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Suite across platforms (print, web, tablet, video)
  • Expert level print, web and UI design skills.
  • Experience with development of design systems, style guides and brand guides.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of print web and UI design best practices.
  • Experience using Figma and other prototyping tools.
  • Experience collaborating with a web development team in an agile environment.
  • Experience and up-to-date with accessibility design standards.
  • Effective communication and constructive criticism skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and high degree on initiative to drive projects to completion.
  • Experience in art direction.
  • Experience in brand guide development and implementation.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.

Working Conditions :

  • The majority of the work is performed in a remote environment, however there may be times a hybrid working model will be required (office and home).
  • Occasionally required to work non-traditional hours to meet travel and other commitments and during times of a disaster response and/or appeals
