Purchasing Coordinator(Temporary Position)
The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (or C-NLOPB, soon to be the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator, or C-NLOER - see below) invites applications for the temporary position of Purchasing Coordinator.
Reporting to the Purchasing and Property Services Lead in the Corporate Services Department, the Purchasing Coordinator:
- Prepares estimates and obtains quotes for purchasing of goods, materials and services, predominantly focused on IT-related equipment, software and services
- Conducts research on potential products, vendors, and services
- Ensures vendor compliance with contract requirements and maintains vendor database
- Tracks details pertaining to shipping and delivery and liaises with vendors to resolve issues
- Assists in the receipt and coordination of purchased goods and services
- Collaborates with the Board's Legal Services Department to review and draft contract documents
- Processes purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Assists in the preparation of RFIs, RFPs, tenders and contracts
- Assists in the evaluation of bids
- Carries out other related duties assigned as required
What we are looking for:
- Degree or diploma in business administration or a related field
- At least two years relevant experience, preferably some experience purchasing IT hardware and software
- Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control policies
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, efficient organizational skills and detail- oriented
- Supply chain management qualifications would be an asset
