Rothesay is seeking a Professional Engineer to oversee the Operations department for the town of Rothesay.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the administration, management, supervision and planning of Rothesay's municipal operations, water and wastewater operations and their respective capital works programs. They will be required to assist the Chief Administrative Officer in planning capital work, the preparation and control of budgets, the estimating and cost accounting process and the evaluation and procurement of materials and equipment for the Operations Department.
The Director of Operations will be a member of Rothesay's senior management team and will represent the municipality in several capacities. They will require at least 8 years supervisory experience, preferably in a local government setting, well developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt to emerging issues with flexibility and creativity. The Director of Operations will have the ability to inspire and motivate a team, make strategic decisions, and effectively manage projects while promoting a positive, and collaborative work environment. Experience dealing with the public and supervising a unionized work environment would be advantageous.
