As part of the Transmission Civil department, the Civil Lead provides leadership and direction to the Civil group, laborers and the public to ensure safe, reliable and efficient construction, installation, repair, troubleshooting and maintenance on NB Power assets.

Key functions include:
• Provide leadership, technical leadership and support to employees through all Civil portions of Capital and Maintenance projects from start to finish including reading and interpreting drawings, standards, work methods, environmental issues, ordering materials and other related project work.
• Lead, organize, coordinate, prepare, and layout project construction sites to ensure cost effective, timely completion of projects which includes collaborating with other NB Power construction crews and contractors as well as supervise to make sure specifications are met.
• Ensure that all operating practices and Corporate Health & Safety Rules and Regulations are followed at all times to ensure safety of employees and other personnel onsite.

Our ideal teammate will have:
• Carpenter CQ
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Combined with:
• Five years of experience in civil and construction work, post-certification, with two of the five years having worked in energized yards, with a proven track record of safe execution of work on these sites
• Two years of experience working with formwork, rebar and concrete
• One year of experience leading a team

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
