Job Description:

Department Overview

Retail Risk Management, Credit Cards & Personal Lending, develops and implements TD's risk management strategy, governance, policies, practices, programs, reporting and operating frameworks, regulatory affairs and operations associated with the Risk Management function for Cards and PL. The Unsecured Portfolio Monitoring and Oversight team manages data, provides reporting and insights required for monitoring of the performance of Credit Cards and Personal Lending automated credit adjudication strategies. Joining this team is an opportunity to apply advanced analytics methods to portfolio level data, create complex Tableau dashboards, develop risk management skills, expand knowledge of Credit Cards and Personal Lending products life cycle.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Unsecured Portfolio Monitoring and Oversight, the Senior Business Intelligence and Reporting Analyst will work independently to provide a range of risk strategy monitoring tools, reports, and dashboards, and produce data used for reporting, ad hoc queries and insights. The reporting is constantly evolving to reflect changes in the strategies. Data processes often require adjustments to adapt to changes in the upstream data. Flexibility, ability to reprioritize and quickly focus on a new task are required for success in this role. Specific responsibilities include: · Develop an understanding of credit product life cycle and credit risk strategies · Take ownership of existing data production and reporting processes: maintain and adhere to production timelines · Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in all reporting · Identify and remediate issues, engaging stakeholders where necessary · Maintain and share expert knowledge of the reports and data tables · Maintain expert knowledge of the data sources used in reports production · Develop and share technical expertise and best practices with the peers · Apply advanced data analytics methods to design, test, and implement new reporting tools · Work with Cards and Personal Lending Risk teams to understand objectives and develop new data and tools · Work with data teams and upstream data owners to ensure access and timely data availability · Collaborate with a variety of other cross-functional stakeholders such as Product teams, Technology, analytics support teams, and other Control functions.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • High proficiency in Tableau, SQL, Python required

  • Experience with SAS, PySpark, Hive, JCL is considered an asset

  • Computer programming background is an asset

Business Knowledge:

  • Strong analytics background with great attention to detail

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Reporting experience is a strong asset

  • Understanding of retail credit products, policies and processes is a strong asset.

  • Experience managing/monitoring the performance of retail credit products is a strong asset

  • Credit Risk Management Experience in a financial institution or similar is a strong asset

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent comprehension skills to facilitate understanding of requests from the business

  • Strong ownership mentality and can-do attitude

  • Excellent relationship management skills

  • Flexibility and resilience to execute in an agile environment, including the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently

  • Strong presentation and communication skills and strong business acumen with ability to engage senior audiences

  • Strong interpersonal skills able to influence / guide stakeholders

Education and Accreditation

  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in a quantitative field: i.e. Math, Statistics, Computer Science or similar) or technical certificate
  • 5+ years relevant experience
