Rothesay is seeking candidates to fill the role of Public Works Superintendent for the Operations department at the town of Rothesay.
Reporting to the Public Works Coordinator, the Works Superintendent is responsible for planning work and assigning tasks to Public Works crews while ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with Rothesay policies and procedures. The Public Works Superintendent is also responsible for monitoring the condition of, and planning maintenance for Rothesay infrastructure including roads, streets, street trees, sidewalks, and drainage, as well as the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
The successful candidate will have at least 8 years supervisory experience, preferably in a local government setting, well developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt to emerging issues with flexibility and creativity. Experience operating heavy equipment and supervising a unionized workforce would be preferable. The successful candidate must have a valid NB driver's licence. This will be a public facing role and experience dealing with the public in a "customer service" manner would be advantageous.
