Salary
NP-35 of the RNUNL salary scales $51.29 to $63.65 per hour, with a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hr. for hours working in the locum position. Locums must agree to work a minimum of fourteen (14) continuous days for this benefit to apply. Other benefits in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement. Position is available from January 25, 2023 to July 23, 2023 (If you have availability for any time period {minimum two-week block} during this time period, please apply and disclose your availability)

Demands, duties, qualifications
About the Role:
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the St. Anthony area. The Nurse Practitioner will work with an inter-professional team in a collaborative team environment to provide access and continuity of care to improve health outcomes and patient quality of life through patient attachment to the team and rostering to individual NPs, with the support and wrap around services of the full team. The Nurse Practitioner position offers an excellent opportunity to apply advanced clinical, theoretical and decision-making skills through comprehensive nursing knowledge and an interdisciplinary collaborative team approach to primary health care and long term care. This position includes but is not limited to a preventative, health promotion, and supportive, rehabilitative, and curative model of care.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved nurse practitioner education program
- Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
- Current registration & licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Nurse Practitioner Family/All ages with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
- Current BCLS certification is required;
- Current ACLS, PALS, TNCC certification or willingness to complete in one year.
- Breastfeeding Essentials course/education
- A valid Newfoundland and Labrador Class 5 Drivers license
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Primarily responsible for the delivery of primary health care, chronic disease management and care of clients in long term care;
- Independently and collaboratively assesses, diagnoses, and prescribes in accordance with professional, provincial, and organizational standards, policies and clinical practice guidelines;
- Utilizing a Person and family Centered care approach works within a collaborative care team to ensure optimal care:
- Advocating for clients, assessing their needs and if applicable, referring to appropriate care providers, professionals, or other services in the interest of the continuum of care;
- Recognizing cultural diversity;
- Utilizing, supporting, facilitating, or participating in research relevant to nursing and the interdisciplinary team;
- Participating in program and policy development as required;
- May be required to work alone and maybe required to be on call;
- Other related duties as required.
