Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Health Information Services, this position will involve a wide range of clerical duties including: patient registration, filing of charts, filing of loose reports, copying of reports, chart retrieval, release of information and other related duties. This position is responsible for operation of switchboard and recall/replacement of Nursing, Dietary and Housekeeping staff if required.

Job Demands

Occasionally lifts files, supplies, etc. weighing less than 10lbs.
Constantly performs fine finger/precision work while sitting and using a computer keyboard and/or mouse, scheduling appointments, and other duties.
Work provides the opportunity to stand and walk and to take postural breaks (sit, stand or walk) within the office environment.

Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and a medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.

** If the medical terminology isn't current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the HR Client Services.
