JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Vice-President of Patient Flow, Intensive Care and Internal Medicine, the incumbent assists in the management of all activities related to the intensive care and internal medicine sector. As part of their mandate, participates in the planning and organization of the care and services delivered, in managing human, financial and material resources, staff training, quality and risk, and supports training and research. The incumbent may be assigned various duties based on operational needs, such as responsibility for developing, implementing, and maintaining a uniform process, and be required to manage employees physically located in other zones. The duties of the position will involve travel within the Network's territory to support colleagues in other zones.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate degree in applied science or a health care field
  • Graduate certificate or higher (diploma or master's) in health services management a definite asset
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a health care management position
  • Eight to ten years' experience in the health field;
  • Experience supervising/managing staff and strong coaching skills
  • Proven knowledge and experience in critical care (intensive care), and experience in process development and implementation
  • A combination of training and experience deemed equivalent may be considered
  • Proven transformational leadership ability
  • Ability to set priorities and meet objectives
  • Ability to manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously and understanding of the organization's needs and priorities
  • Analytical, writing and synthesis skills
  • Good knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Availability to travel within the Network's territory
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to motivate and engage people and to act as a change agent
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
