Job Summary
The Clerk II with the Chemotherapy/Ambulatory Care Program performs a variety of clerical functions including registering patients upon arrival to the clinics, ensuring patient confidentiality, scheduling appointments, and obtaining patient records from Health Records. This position is also responsible for transcribing written memos/notes related to patient appointments, providing written instructions to patients regarding procedures, and answering and responding to telephone inquiries. They will ensure clinics and offices are fully supplied with appropriate linens and clinic/office supplies as well as maintain and operate various office technology equipment. Other duties as required.

Constantly lifts objects less than 5lbs and occasionally lifts up to between 20 - 40 lbs. when helping with a patient's luggage (ambulatory care) or lifting a box of files requiring assistance. May be required to maneuver carts and use a step ladder to access higher shelves.
Constantly performs fine finger/precision work while sitting and using a computer mouse, scheduling appointments and other duties.
Work provides the opportunity to stand and walk and the opportunity to take postural breaks (sit, stand or walk) within the office environment.
Frequently required to perform bilateral repetitive fine motor skills when performing various computer work duties that involve typing and use of the computer's mouse.
Job Qualifications
Successful completion of a one-year Office Administration program from an approved/recognized college is required.
Successful completion of an approved/recognized medical terminology course is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
*Proof of a current office administration program and medical terminology is required. To be considered current, they must have been completed within the last five years, unless it has been used in recent positions. This must be demonstrated on the application form.
*If medical terminology isn't current, a medical terminology test may be administered by the Human Resources Client Services Department.
